Did you know singing in a choir does all kinds of good stuff for our brains and emotional and social wellbeing?

(Also, metal music is a safe and healthy way to process feelings. But you already knew that.)

By learning to blend your voice with others in the Heavy Choir, even the darkest of souls will be fed with feel-good endorphins and a thrilling sense of social connection.

Remember, you're not alone in this crazy world. And that's a good thing, really.

For your confidence

Maybe your vocal comfort zone is precisely the square footage of your shower, or it's just been a few years (or drinks) ago since you rocked the karaoke mic at a work party.

With Heavy Choir, you'll be guided in vocal and performance techniques as a group, to help you build confidence in a supportive and creative space.

As you learn to harmonise songs you actually love, hit the big hero notes like Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson, and find courage to rock a solo at one of our awesome events, you're sure to surprise yourself along the way.

For the love
of
METAL

If you’ve ever belted out Metallica’s “One” with a bunch of mates (or strangers) - you know it’s the camaraderie that makes the heavy metal community extra special.

It's that "unified" and "amplified" feeling that we capture in the Heavy Choir, by welcoming metalheads of all walks of life to access the benefits of choir singing.

So as you step into a rehearsal or performance, you become a valued part of our singing metalhead community, paying tribute to our love of heavy music and helping spread social good one dark, dramatic harmony at a time.

Heavy Choir acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land where we sing together, work and live. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders of all communities who also work and live on this land.
